Spent some time recently cleaning up my computer files and came across these that I never posted. These were from my 2020 art request stream after finishing both Dead City and Gender Slices!
This was during some real rough artblock back in 2019, but I managed to push through! There’ll be better days!
I sketched this the day Steven Universe Future ended but didn’t get a chance to finish it until much later. I have a lot of feelings about this show and while I’m sad it’s over I think they ended it on a perfect note.
It really made me feel like my feelings about my own mom were justified and helped me put into perspective that she may not have been a perfect person like I dreamed she was. And that’s okay. I relate so much to Steven, maybe more than any other character I’ve ever seen in fiction.
So this is my thank you to the franchise, it’s a redraw of the very first piece of fanart I did back in 2013
