One-shot Cottage Window

Digital comic done in black, white and textured greys. Jey is in bed with their eyes closed and smiling while saying "Ah~ Being able to have the window open!" while they're at the cottage in nature instead of in the city. The moon shines through the window as nature makes noises "HOO HOO HOO HOO" and "brittt brittttt" and "Trumpet noises (trumpeter swans screaming for an hour" and "tromp tromp tromp" and "brr brrr" while Jey looks on tiredly. Jey is in bed with their eyes closed and smiling with bags under their eyes while saying "Still worth it."

Sometimes you leave the city and stay in the great outdoors. In the city I can’t have my windows open at night at ALL because of honking cars, sirens, people yelling, etc.

One-shot Fishing

Digital comic done in black and white with textured greys. Narration reads "First time fishing" with Jey, a nonbinary person with big square glasses and short cropped hair wearing a t-shirt. They're reeling back with a fishing rod over a lake. They throw the line and it goes "BOING!" on the end of the rod. The lure doesn't go anywhere. Jey notices this and goes "Oh..." disappointedly as they watch the line just slowly sink down from the top of the rod towards the water. The lure "plops" into the water, where unbeknownst to Jey a fish lurks. Jey exclaims "I GOT ONE?!" as they pull the fish out of the water.

My good friend Amiel taught me how to fish this summer and this was my first time throwing a line out! It was very exciting, even if the line didn’t actually go anywhere.

I got the hang of throwing the line eventually.
