I’m so glad I kept all that old art, it’s so nice to look back on and compare how I was at ages 10-11 to now!
I posted these Q&As on Patreon during my December hiatus and I wanted to post this one today to make up for the missed Dead City update.
Questions are brought to you by fans on topazcomics.com and answered by Michelle.
Did you know that Mikael and JP weren’t always running from zombies? They’ve been around longer than Dead City has and it’s always fun to look back on old art of them. It’s also how Michelle and I met each other~
We posted these Q&As on Patreon and I’ll be posting these on days where we can’t get a Dead City page up. Our apologies for not posting a page today.
Is it weird that I’ve had art from Dead City as my phone wallpaper for like a year now?
Whaaaat?! That’s not weird at all! I’d love to know specifically what your wallpaper is because no one’s ever said this to me before!!
Is Pawlik… your real surname? It feels… fake… Like… Lick paw… Paw lick… Pawlik… I’m sorry… I just needed to ask…
Pawlik is my real last name, it’s a Ukrainian last name. And I have heard all the jokes. Believe me. I’m not sure why I’d make up something like that.
Hey, I was wondering, what pens do you ink your comics with?
ohhboyyyy!!! this is my kind of question!
It changes up every so often. I did a post about how I make comics about a year ago now: here
And now I use different pens, which I’ve also started reviewing on my patreon.
But right now my favourites are:
Sailor Fude de Mannen 55
Kuretake 13
Pilot Metropolitan
Fountain Pen Revolution flex Guru
So I hope those are some good recs for you, I’m always ready to talk about pens!
Someone asked how I anatomy and while I don’t have a direct answer for you I did my best to make a little anatomy study tutorial!

I didn’t know you read through dead city as well. It’s a cool little series so far.
JP and me are actually buddies! Admittedly I’m way behind because I’m a bad friend, but I try to make up for it by promo-ing their work! Hahaha… they actually helped me color W2H and cleaned up some of my scans! But yeah Dead City is great and JP does awesome work and if you’re reading this and haven’t already checked out their work, GO CHECK OUT THEIR WORK!
Thanks Erica for all the support though! Michelle and I get really hyped when you reblog the DC stuff!
Hey, umm, I was wondering if you have a way for us to read all of gender slices in canonical order?
https://topazcomics.com is the main site, http://genderslices.tumblr.com and click on ‘first’, or it’s also on tapastic https://tapas.io/series/GenderSlices
Hello! I have a kind of stupid question that you obviously don’t have to answer if you don’t want to. Do you think you identify/present as more stereotypical male or female, or just nope?
I definitely present more masculine, it’s not because that’s “the nonbinary look”, it’s because I really like it!
