Character redesign for Michelle. From the thing I reblogged here, check it out. I’d like more experience with this kind of thing, especially since I didn’t change too much for this one out of two that I actually got.
This is a redesign of her character Tan. He really needed some new colours, that and she aged him up to be like 40 something.
I always pictured Tan as, the nerdy looking man, who wasn’t the sort of… fanboy nerd, like with video games or whatever. But like, book smart, and math, and that kind of nerd. Someone who’d actually excel at school, who had braces, and flood pants, and was that loner kid. That’s how I see it. And as a middle-aged man, I don’t think it’d change. He dresses like how his father would, maybe. That though, and we have this joke where: when he takes off his glasses, he de-ages twenty or so years, and actually has nice eyes. I can’t bring myself to draw them though. No one should know what his eyes actually look like. Kind of like the Professor from Futurama. Anywho, so that’s Tan’s redesign.
I’m still down for doing more of these btw~

Sorry it took a while, I had it done pretty quickly, but I was working on my new art blog and watermark. So yeah, here we go. Hope it’s good. I really just put in how I personally would remake the character, so if you don’t care for it, that’s cool too~

Story time with Julie, yay!
Okay, so my friend Cal came over to watch the new episode of Korra. I hooked my comp to my flatscreen, and we watched it on the flat. After the ep, Cal started doodling something for a friend, and I was browsing through my sketchbook scan folders for refs for an OC I was going to draw. Cal looked up at my tv, and told me to go back a page, so I did. Then she asked why I drew Mako at the bottom of the page. I stared at it for a second, then looked at the date (because I’m OCD and date every page of my sketchbooks), the date was back in October… even before I’d properly watched the original Avatar series, so well before I knew what Korra was for sure… let alone who Mako was.
Thus, I decided to take the doodle into Photoshop and make it Mako. It worked pretty damn well. I don’t know why it’s so amusing to me…
