Mermaid AU
Mikael is a red dragonfish who lives on the coast near a small town. He’s friends with some locals and has a good life, but doesn’t know any other merpeople. JP is an orca and lives in the ocean with his pod. JP met Mikael as he was travelling through the coast and he almost immediately fell for him.
I’ve drawn them as merpeople many times before, but it looks like this is the only sketch I ever actually posted.

Alien AU
Mikael is an alien who was flying around space looking for a place to call home. He landed on an island up north in Canada and found an empty cottage to take up residency in. That summer, JP drives up to his private cottage up north and finds an alien has invaded. In his personal space.

Robot AU
Mikael is a robot who is given to JP to help him relax more. JP works too long and too hard and needs constant reminders from Mikael to take breaks and rest.

Skargarden
This isn’t quite an AU, but how Mikael and JP came into existence. Dead City was an AU that we ended up liking better than the original. Skargarden was a deviantArt group about animal inspired characters, kind of like gijinkas. JP is an alligator, and Mikael is a strawberry hermit crab. Every so often I’ll get the itch to draw their original designs again, and I had a real fun time drawing this one!
