Jigen/Mash 1969

Square drawing made to look like a black and white film photograph. A young Jigen is arm in arm with a young Mash, from the Lupin the third tv special Hemingway Papers, the two of them are wearing army uniforms and smiling for the camera, they have their hands up in peace signs. Jigen is wearing a helmet that covers his eyes but does not have a beard. Mash is wearing a higher ranking uniform than Jigen and has his hair in a mullet style, with just a few moustache hairs on his upper lip.

I’d rewatched Hemingway Papers earlier this year and really wanted to draw a young Jigen and Mash. I have oh so many headcanons for them.

I’ve got a bunch of these old photo style illustrations in my backlog and I’m thinking I’ll post them on my Patreon/VIP Blog once The Curtain Falls is over, then collect them all into a zine!

New Tablet Sketches

Sketch page with five head shot doodles on it. The top left corner reads “New tablet get! It does this weird thing on a specific spot on the screen. Samsung had no idea what to do, it happened after an exchange and on the floor models! Boo! Hopefully it’ll sort itself out.” On the right side of the page, there’s a coloured doodle of Darumaka running with her hands up and a big smile on her face. Beside that is a portrait sketch of Lupin looking to the right smiling. Below that is a smaller portrait of Jigen looking flustered. At the bottom of the page shows two original character sketches, the first one is of Sten, coloured, he’s a big muscular man with a thick jaw and eyelashes, he’s got long pink hair pulled back into a bun and he looks concerned. Next to him is another original character, Salvator, who’s not coloured in, and he’s smiling while looking to the right, he’s a skinny man with long black messy hair also pulled back into a bun but his bangs hang over his eyes. He’s wearing fancy jewellery.

This one is from last year and I’d forgotten to post it. I got a new Samsung tablet last August for drawing on the go, so here’s some test doodles with Darumaka, Lupins and two OCs!

I really like the Samsung Galaxy Tabs as an ipad alternative. I use Clipstudio on it and use it as my primary inking device! I had some issues with it in the beginning but those sorted themselves out, it seems like it was a magnet problem so I don’t keep the pen magnetized to the back of the tablet anymore.

Sketchbook Shoutouts – 46

The last drawing is a waist up, profile shot of two characters from RWBY, a blond boy in a black sweatshirt and elbow pads clasping the hands of a shorter girl with black hair and a cape, they’re looking at each other excitedly, text above the drawing reads “shoutout for Lake and Willow”.

It’s the beginning of the month so here’s another shoutout request page! I’m always so down to draw a flustered Goemon, fun crossovers, y’all’s OCs, and other characters I’ve never drawn before.

Sketchbook Shoutouts – 45

Image with three different black and white inked drawings on it. The first has the text “shoutout for TLC” in which TLC’s character, an older man with scarred arms, holds a baby against his chest as it barfs on him, we only see the back of the baby and the sound effect “BLEH…” as the man’s face stares off in the distance tiredly. The second drawing has the text “shoutout for a wild rat man” and shows a crying Lupin holding desperately onto Yata’s arms as Yata reaches up to hold Lupin’s face with his hands, Yata is looking sadly into Lupin’s eyes. The last drawing has the text “shoutout for FRNZ” and is Goemon with his eyes closed and a smile on his face, he’s sheathing his sword as the wind blows his hair majestically to the right, there are sparkles and cherry blossoms floating around him.
