Casual Confessions

Comic page in greyscale. A beautiful ballroom with a giant crowd mingles and dances around a large decorative egg. Lupin and Jigen are wearing tuxedos and are ballroom dancing together. Jigen looks at the prize, then at Lupin who's smiling. Jigen asks "What?" in a serious way.

Lupin smiles sweetly and replies "This is nice." Jigen looks confused and asks "The... job?" Lupin says "No, dancing with you." Jigen takes his hand off Lupin's shoulder and sweats nervously while exclaiming "HAH! What?! But 'm terrible at dancin'. I got two left feet." The room around them and Lupin pulls Jigen closer while saying "Still, doesn't it just feel right?" We close in on the two faces, just inches apart. Jigen's face is red as he says "Lupin... what're you getting at here?" Lupin looks at Jigen calmly and replies "I'm saying I like being with you." Which makes Jigen even more flustered and says "Are you seriously doin' this now? During a job?" Lupin just laughs at this and says "But doesn't that make it more exciting?" Lupin leans in for a kiss. Jigen stops him midway saying "Listen." Lupin's expression immediately fades and he's thrown into a dark state as Jigen says "If I kiss you here and now--" but the darkness subsides and Jigen continues "I won't be able to stop. So let's do this after. Okay?" Lupin laughs with a tear in his eye and Jigen smiles along with him. The camera zooms out to see the two smiling together in the crowd of people, Lupin replying "You got it!"
This one was written and drawn by me as I try and dip my toes slowly into writing comics. I tried sketching the first two pages traditionally but I’ve noticed my anatomy and compositions are way cleaner/better if I sketch digitally. Also trying out a new way of toning a comic, unsure if I like it yet or not, but these one-shot quick comics are real nice for testing out things without committing to a whole 300 pg comic! What do y’all think?

Lupin One-shot: He’s Important

Comic page in black and white with grey textures. Jigen has Zenigata in his gun's viewfinder and says "Hey I got that dopey inspector in my sights." Lupin yells "NO! YOU CAN'T!" and the viewfinder blurs and moves away from Zenigata's head. Jigen asks "Lupin! What're you--?! What's the problem, he--" We see Lupin holding Jigen's sniper rifle down as the two sit on a roof together. Lupin responds "He's important to-- he's important to the plan!" The two go silent and Jigen pulls his large gun close to his chest.

Idea I had a while back before I had my surgery! Lupin being gay and not really knowing it is so my jam.

I downloaded some new brushes for CSP and I’ve been enjoying them so much I wanted to try them on a comic, so it’s bit experimental so I hope it looks good!

I’m also thinking this year I’m going to be posting Darumaka pages once a week; I want to get into a webcomic routine again, and these one-shots might be a rarer occurrence.

Mutual Jigens

Some Jigens in mutuals’ styles! I’ve been slowly chipping away at this to get myself back into drawing and wow it was a lot of fun! I think I got pretty close! Thanks for letting me borrow your styles.
