I did a wallpaper series for Dead City on Patreon a few years ago, and I wanted to post some not HQ versions here! I’m still proud of these. This is the Toronto harborfront.

Coming at ya hot and ready with today’s Dead City one-shot!
Still testing out how I want to ink things in CSP but I feel like I’m really getting the hang of it!
It’s Halloween AND Dead City’s 7th anniversary! If you want a completed webcomic to read today check out Dead City on Topaz Comics!
It’s a wholesome queer comic set in a post-apocalyptic Toronto where two boys survive and fall in love together! Written by @octokracken, art by me~

Page 2/3, the last page coming in next week! Also let’s meet JP’s little brother, Dimitr!
A little behind the scenes for y’all, Clipstudio just came out for Android and this is the first comic I’ve done using it! It’s a little overwhelming but I’m hoping to do more of these one-shots to test out a bunch of the features it has, so look forward for that.
The behind the scenes of this comic is up on Patreon for $1 if you want to see how I make comics!
This is going to be a 3 page comic spread out throughout three weeks just because work is a little hectic right now. So here’s page 1 of 3.
Michelle wrote this one, it’s a little insight in who JP was before the apocalypse. Enjoy!

Our first Dead City one shot for y’all! There’s a few little shorts like this that couldn’t make it in to the final comic so we thought we’d share and draw them for you anyway!
Hope you enjoy!
What other kinds of one-shots would you like seeing?

Ending two long-standing webcomics in one year is a lot.
But I’m so happy with how Dead City turned out.
I love these boys so much and I never could have made it this far without my partner Michelle who stuck with me through the whole thing and wrote such a great wholesome comic.
I know a lot of people were expecting more from it. More zombies, more action, more drama, but that’s not really what Dead City was about. We knew from the start that it was going to be pretty zombie-free, we wanted to focus more on the characters and them growing closer than make it another “Walking Dead”. Mikael and JP would meet, grow closer, fall in love, journey through Toronto to JP’s fancy apartment and be safe together with a hint of hope at the end that everything’s going to work out.
This was a way for Michelle and I to learn how to create comics together and it was never going to be a 1000 page epic, we didn’t want that for our first story but even still it did manage to get pretty long at 330 pages.
I also think ending it during a world pandemic is pretty powerful. It’s hopeful. Everything’s going to be alright!
I hope everyone enjoyed our first comic and I’m really looking forward to what’s up and coming for us in the future! In the mean time you can check out all the Dead City art I’ve posted up here while we take a break before posting up some one-shot comics for y’all!
I can’t thank everyone enough for reading this and supporting us. Thank you!
I made a meme template for people to suggest styles for me to draw some OCs in just like my JP one. So here’s Mikael with suggestions from Twitter and Instagram!
