Working on a pitch for a short trans comic and I’m having the hardest time trying to name these twins. Looking for modern boy/girl names but a girl name I can possibly turn into a neutral/masc. name.

So @octokracken and I have been working on a potential new comic and we’ve been coming up with some really cute new characters! Here’s a quick preview of some of my doodles of them: Daven and Leif!

It took a long time to get him right. Pretty happy with the design. So I thought I’d show a bit of the process!
For a prompt: design a character based off a colour.
I’ve been working on a character for a while now and I can happily say I think I’m happy with this design!
Rust is a smart kid with a good business sense and a fine sense of responsibility but is really unsure of where his life is going. He’s a jack of all trades but doesn’t want to be. He’s worked at his family’s mom and pop shop, gone to school for architecture, took violin lessons. He’s trying to find himself. He does a lot of things because he feels he should, and he’s good at a lot but not enough to stand out. (Also he and I are unsure where his gender is going right now. He’s gonna be pretty fluid. Changing pronouns a bit I think! Going for he/him for now. He is AFAB.)
I really wanted to redesign this character for a long time, but wow it was hard. I’m not sure why I was so stumped on it. I filled like a whole sketchbook with concepts! I’ll post up some sketches later. I’ll also probably draw him and Bronze a bit too.

Bronze is an energetic person who enjoys both his own company and the company of others. He’s self conscious but very good at keeping everyone’s spirits up. He’s very naive and is easily taken advantage of for his generosity. Can be a bit feeble-minded, but is charming and endearing enough to get by. A regular old boy-scount kind of guy. Very simple. He works as a lumberjack.
Backstory time: I made Bronze six years ago for a group on DeviantArt. The group impacted me a lot during college and I didn’t draw much else for a good two years. The group has since disbanded and I really missed Bronze, so I wanted to create something to put him in. I’m sure I’ll find a comic to draw him in, but for the meantime I wanted to light the fires of inspiration once more to create characters based off colours again.
After posting a big thing about Ulf, I really wanted to do one for another character whom I hold very dear: Ulf’s dad Falcor. Also I need to get better at drawing beards.
Falcor is a super sweet single dad (who’s also trans) and depending on the au is also a werewolf. Mostly I just wanted to draw that poof! He owns his own bait and tackle shop to support his four kids. He also has a bad fashion sense and really likes fish and nautical themed things. I just really like Falcor.
