2025 was a YEAR(™) but the Disney video game I worked on came out, Max and I finished a bunch of short comics like The Curse Eater Pilot, Jigen Now and Then, The Curtain Falls, and our sexy Paul Bunyan short for Transfixed. I’m also back at OJST and excited to make more comics in 2026.
2026 is going to be the year of comics!!!
What a year 2025 was. I’ve got some big plans for 2026 so I hope you’ll come along with me for those~

Webcomic Updates
This month’s OJST comic came out on the 9th “T with a Side of POP”, I’ve been excited to share this comic because I’m just so happy that I’ve nixed my period finally! Sometimes a low dose of T just isn’t enough to get rid of your period, but luckily there are options. I’m so grateful to my endo for helping me out and being super supportive.
There won’t be a January OJST from me, but I’ll be back in February!
We’ve wrapped up “Jigen, Now and Then” on Topaz Comics: The comic Max and I did for Tsushi’s charity zine “Jigen Before and After” — which raised $500 towards the Transgender Law Center!!
“Jigen, Now and Then” is a 6 page comic about Jigen on the hunt for Lupin as they grow apart.

This is Not Fiction by Nicole Mannino
TINF is a webcomic I’ve been following for well over a decade at this point and it’s been such a lovely story to read as Nicole’s art and storytelling has grown!
The story follows Julian and his love for a particular romance novelist. He attempts several times to meet the author Sydney Morgan, even asking “The Godfather of School” for help and hijinks ensue. Who could Sydney Morgan really be?

I’ve wrapped up my first semester of teaching and am feeling good about it! I’m feeling inspired to work on COMICS!
2026 might be the year where I start a new webcomic, and I’m going to do my BEST!
I’m taking December off from a few things like OJST to get all my end of semester work done (lots of marking), so I won’t have a new comic in January but I’ll be back at the beginning of February with a new one so don’t you worry.

Cool Comic Recommendation
Gym Punk is a brand new nuzlocke comic by the ever talented Olibhéare! Follow Hal as he, a 30 year old, goes on his first Pokemon journey through Hoenn. The art is fun and the jokes are so charming.
I used to read a lot of nuzlockes back in my DeviantArt days, so a comic like this feels so nostalgic to me.
I also made a cool little rotating banner for my blog, where each comic I’ve recommended will appear every time you refresh the page or move to a different page on the site!

I’ve just got 2 more classes left of the semester. It went by like a blur but, y’know? I think I really like teaching. Especially teaching comics!
I’m taking December off from a few things like OJST to get all my end of semester work done (lots of marking), so I won’t have a new comic in January but I’ll be back at the beginning of February with a new one so don’t you worry.

An absolutely incredible webcomic. The writing is so realistic and it feels so frighteningly real. Milo, a young trans man who’s extremely online, has been involved in a murder and he’s trying to find his way in the world after the horrible event. Everyone is problematic in the most interesting ways! I just can’t stop reading because what happens NEXT?!

Max and I will be at MCX in Mississauga as Topaz Comics! This is a free convention so come by and say hi on November 15th. I’ll also be doing a sketch challenge at 11am where the audience will give us ideas on what to draw in 20 minutes and have a chance to WIN said sketch!
I’m halfway done the semester now and teaching has been going really well. I love inspiring folks to make comics!!
My 35th birthday is coming up on November 5th and I’m still deciding what I want to do for it, maybe I’ll post some art.

Tiger, Tiger by Petra Erika Nordlund
I just realised I hadn’t talked about Tiger, Tiger yet?!
Maybe one of the best webcomics I’ve ever read. I’ve been a fan of Petra’s since my DeviantArt days in highschool (so almost 20 years ago). Tiger, Tiger is a high seas adventure with beautifully drawn ships and characters. A noblewoman steals her brother’s ship on her obsessive hunt for sea sponges but she may have found an eldritch horror god instead–who’s less horror and more hot butch some of the time.

An update on tariffs: as of August 29th, the US is requiring a 30% tariff fee on ALL items of $800 or less from Canada. In the meantime I’m closing any shipments to the USA until I can figure out how this works with my site or if the US rescinds this decision. I am deeply upset by this because 90% of my sales come from American folks. It’s been a terrible ride lately for selling online and I’m so very tired.

Itch.io & NSFW media under attack
As of writing this on August 31st:
Itch.io has reinstated all my works but Stripe is no longer an option for payment and I feel uneasy with Paypal being the only option there. Itch.io has said they’re looking in to new payment processors but nothing new has developed yet.
I hold strong in my support of NSFW content and I highly recommend you contact Mastercard, Visa, Paypal and Stripe to tell them your displeasure in the situation. There’s lots of resources out there right now on how to fight back and I highly recommend you do, even if NSFW media isn’t your jam censorship helps no one. Please check out https://yellat.money/ for a list of phone numbers, petitions, and other ways to help.
As a NSFW artist myself I’m currently looking into other options for where to host my work or how to accept payment for those works. I have made a SubscribeStar and am just waiting to be approved for that and I’ll see if I can use that as an option.
If anyone has any other options that are viable to try, please let me know!

Oh Joy Sex Toy by Erika Moen, Matthew Nolan, Hien Pham, and many more!
I assume most folks know about Oh Joy Sex Toy, but in case you don’t: Oh Joy Sex Toy is a sexy and sex-ed comics site which has a huge archive of reviews, sex-ed, fictional and autobio comics. It’s just over 12 years old now and helped me when I was finally just learning about sex-ed in my early 20s.
I’ve also done quite a lot of comics for them, with one-offs and regular monthly comics from 2021 to 2023 and… oh! You should be sure to read the comic coming out on September 19th 👀 👀 👀
For the last two years I’ve also been doing social media posting for them on Mastodon and Pillowfort, so that’s me if you ever get a reply on either of those.
Other Things
I’m back from vacation and had a great, relaxing time! Max and I had three weeks away from the internet and news and social media. We went swimming, I took lots of photos, and we worked on comics outside while listening to birds and looking out at the lake.
Commissions will be closed for now, my workload got a lot heavier after of coming back from vacation.
I was offered a teaching job at a local private college!!! School hasn’t started yet and I’m nervous and excited about this all at once!

July’s Sketchbook

It was another busy month but I managed to get almost 30 pages done for the first time in a loooong time. I’ve got a lot of things on the go in this one: lots of redesigning old OCs, silly doodles, Cartoonist Coop work, TTRPG concepts, and going through some old sketchbooks to redraw some really old but fun designs and pitches. Plus of course, shoutout requests from my Private Collector folks!
Also on my old sketchbook hunt I came across a folder of 34 sketchbooks from 2015 to 2019 that I completely forgot about and have never posted. Would folks be interested in seeing those?

Jigen: Before and After Zine
A new Lupin zine is available for preorders both physically and digitally.
50 Pages of art of Lupin III’s Jigen Daisuke collected for a community charity zine. All profits will be sent to Transgender Law Center. Preorder, books planned to ship before August ends.
Max and I have a 6 page comic in this zine and I cannot wait for you to read it!
I also got to design the keychain for the zine.

Cool Comic Recommendation
I only recently got caught up on this comic after it had been on my “to read” list for quite a while and what an absolute delight! The art is absolutely fantastic and I deeply enjoy a good fantasy tale.
Fairmeadow is about an orcish warrior Goma who after being quite injured in a war stumbles upon “Fairmeadow”, a commune of peaceful folk. Goma struggles in this new environment but maybe her walls begin to come down as she gets to know these new friends. Read and find out! This comic is still updating so be sure to add it to your RSS reader.

The Topaz Comics Shop will be closed for physical shop orders until August 25th, but you can still buy PDFs!
Commissions will be closed for all of August as well, I’ll see about re-opening in September but that’s not a guarantee depending on my work load.
Dead City is the THIRD book in the Tales of Toronto featured book list on the Toronto Public Library. How cool is that?!

THE CURTAIN FALLS HAS ARRIVED!
I’m so so proud of this book and how it turned out. And that it’s done. This was my first big fictional project by myself. I wanted to keep it fairly short and manageable lest I be overwhelmed but it went really well. Hey and did you know the PDF and book come with extras? Like TEN pages of extras and a post card? I really went all out on this one and I hope you enjoy it. If you did, @ me on most socials about it, or shoot me an email!

June’s Sketchbook
This month’s sketchbook is up for the Grab Bag tier on Patreon and my VIP Blog
It’s another month of lots of concept art! June was so busy with conventions and events but I somehow managed to get a bunch of sketching in. There’s a few pages of notes when I went to a day long seminar on comic making, maybe you’ll find it helpful — I know I did! And as always some great shoutout requests from the Private Collector crew, it’s always fun drawing so many JigZeni pieces and brand new things I’d never heard of before.
Wrapping up June’s Convention Events!
TCAF and CitrusCon were both so wonderful! I met so many great folks at both.
TCAF was in a different location this year and while it was extremely crowded, I did enjoy the new setup. TCAF is my favourite show of the year whether I’m boothing or attending. I also think having it be during Pride Month really helped. We got so many tourists coming through and were excited to see all the queer comics on our table! Thank you to everyone who came by!
This was also my first time boothing at CitrusCon and it was really delightful! I would absolutely sign-up for it again. If you like MLM works I highly recommend it.

This comic is for an 18+ adult audience only and features explicit sexual content, violence, and other mature themes.

Exorcism Academy is fun, sexy, and dramatic in all the right parts! If you’re a fan of beautiful beefy boys and demons then this is the comic for you.

THE CURTAIN FALLS HAS WRAPPED UP!
I started outlining and thumbnailing Curtains in 2020, then started the art for it in 2022 and now it’s complete! I’m so very proud of it. It was very ambitious for me, because thumbnailing a car chase isn’t quite the same as DRAWING the car chase.
The books have been paid for and are currently in production to be (hopefully) done in time for TCAF on June 7th-8th. Afterwards the PDF and book will be up and available in the Topaz Shop!

Pia & The Little Things by Clover
Pia & The Little Things is such a delightful webcomic with absolutely gorgeous artwork, beautiful illustrations in-between chapters of various bugs, moths, and other little critters, and I’m so excited to see what happens next! It’s very light and slice-of-life with a bits of drama and intrigue sprinkled in.
I had Pia on the mind this month because Clover let me use it as an example in my RSS talk so I just want to sing its praises a bit. Please go read it (and add it to your RSS reader of choice~)
TCAF 2025
Because it’s in a new location this year (just a block of College Station) we don’t have a map or booth numbers yet but we will be there selling everything we have available in the Topaz Shop AND MORE!

Nib & Ink Fest 2025
May 31st is the last day of the Cartoonist Coop’s big month long online event!
NIF has been so exciting and great to be a part of. I’m on the promo committee for it and spent a lot of this year writing up social media posts for the Coop’s socials to post.
The PDF copy of Dead City is available in the NIF shop plus so many other cool comics! AND you can still watch my talk “RSS & You” I hope I can convince some folks to give RSS a shot. All the talks are available even after NIF is over on the youtube channel.

Cool Comic Recommendation
Awkward Zombie by Katie Tiedrich
So I’ve been reading Awkward Zombie since I was 16 in 2006 and I cannot believe Katie is still going strong on these. The comics continue to be an absolute delight. If you haven’t read or heard of Awkward Zombie, they’re one pages comics usually about various video game goofs; including Smash Bros, Legend of Zelda, and more!
Nib & Ink Fest 2025
I’ve been on the NIF committee since the concept began (I got to name the fest itself wow!) and I am so excited to see it come to fruition.
I’ll have the PDF copy of Dead City available in the NIF shop AND I’ve got a talk on May 17th at 1pmEST about RSS, come by, ask questions and learn how to make following people you like better.
