Shop Updates
Given & Taken preorders have officially been mailed off and are getting delivered! The book itself is now back up in the shop, along with the transJigen sticker which you can now purchase separately AND B-copies where there’s minor printing issues which I’m selling at a reduced price of $9CAD. During April we might put the shop on hiatus until after TCAF just to ensure we have enough stock for the show. If you’re near Toronto, be sure to visit us April 29th & 30th at TCAF booth #2083 in the Appel Salon!
March’s Sketchbook
March’s sketchbook is HERE for my Grab Bag tier on Patreon and Kofi! Lots of Lupins & Curse Eater concepts this month. I had a really good time sketching this month despite how busy I’ve been, I feel like I’m just about back to a comfortable drawing pace.
The Curtain Falls
Page 22 of my Lupin III fancomic “The Curtain Falls” is up. The story follows Lupin in his 60s, dealing with the fact that nothing lasts forever and I’m officially back to working on the pages at a pretty steady rate!
Commissions
I’ve got 2 commission slots open per month, only 2 because that might be all I can handle right now. Patrons get first dibs. I set up a trello board for it too, I’m a big fan of trello boards. If you’re going to be at TCAF at the end of the month and want a physical commission shoot me an email at jey@topazcomics.com – I won’t be taking commissions on site but am happy to have them deliverable at the show itself!
NSFW Art
For my $10 Private Collector patron tier, I posted some new lewd pieces; new OCs, another Q&As – one with Lupin/Everyone, and a second with Jigen/Zenigata, I’m also starting the third and last chapter of the Jigen/Zenigata comic “After All These Years” and Patrons got a look at the next chapter cover page. My $10 tier has a huge backlog of lewd art spanning a few years now, but if you can’t make it onto Patreon you can grab the PDF versions on my itchio after I collect enough pieces to make a PDF. Patreon and Itchio are the only places I’ll be posting 18+ work.
TCAF
Dead City books are pretty much good to go and I’ll be sending the final files off to print the first week of April!! Get HYPED!! Join me & Michelle at TCAF (April 29-30th, 2023) on the second floor, booth #2083 in the Appel Salon. I’ll be bringing lots of books, stickers, prints and more!
Other things
I made a new goal on my Kofi account, I’d like to try doing more talks for free online about how to freelance, make zines, set up a Patreon, etc. The talk I have in mind right now is about how to moderate a fandom zine or comic anthology, setting up applications, making a PDF, and sending books to print! It’ll be available on my twitch channel and then I’ll upload the VOD to youtube, and write a written format for it as well. It’s a lot of work to set things like this up so I thought putting up a Kofi goal would be the best way to crowd-source this.

I’m officially apart of the Cartoonist Cooperative, which is a really cool community for comic artists to work on things together and share resources!

February’s Oh Joy Sex Toy Comic “Communication”
Read it here! New month new Oh Joy Sex Toy comic from yours truly. I’ve been wanting to tell this one for a while. Michelle and I have been together for just over 10 years and we’ve learned that communication is the most key part of any relationship.
I highly recommend communicating with those around you, not just in your romantic life but friendships, family, etc, if you can and feel safe to do so! My friendships have also benefited from doing this, but I’d never try it with my own family for… reasons.
For $10 patrons, I posted a behind the scenes about my OJST comic “Make Your Own Food”. This includes how and why I made it, the script, thumbnails, and sketches of the pages.

Given & Taken is off to print and should be arriving in the next week or so! Stickers have arrived and I’m on track for sending the preorders out by March 15th. For those who missed out on the preorder do not fret, as soon as I get the preordered books sent out I’ll be putting the extra books and stickers up in my shop. I’ll also have the books and stickers available in person at TCAF.

Topaz Comics is apart of Knife Beetle; a webcomic webring. Go read some of those comics, there’s some real good stuff on there.

January’s Oh Joy Sex Toy Comic “Destressing with the Magic Wand”
Times can be tough and sometimes I’m just not up for the whole kit and caboodle so I’ll just reach for my old trusty favourite instead. This last year has been a lot with getting sick, having sudden wrist pain, social media being what it is, it really bummed me out. I’m thankful for my partner Michelle and my therapist, so things are looking up but I know it can be rough sometimes. So this is just a little something I do to relieve some of that pent up energy.
For $10 patrons, I posted a behind the scenes about my OJST comic “Headcanons”. This includes how and why I made it, the script, thumbnails, and sketches of the pages.

January’s Sketchbook
My January 2023 sketchbook on Patreon & Kofi too! New year, new sketchbook! It includes this months shoutout requests, lots of Lupin Zero doodles, thoughts, comics and ideas(?!!!), some RPG NPCs, and more work on an original comic concept!
The Curtain Falls
My 50 page Lupin comic had some hold-ups while I was recovering from my wrist injury so I decided to post pages as I finish them instead of trying to maintain it once a week. Right now I’m posting it for $5 Patrons and Ko-fi subscribers. This has been a really ambitious project with huge backgrounds and a car chase?! I did this to myself, I know.

For my $10 patron tier, I posted two new smutty Lupin pieces. I’m starting a new thing where people can request specific nsfw art through a suggestions box! It’s been fun and I wanted to answer the question-type ones as the characters. They’ll be like mini sketchy comics. There’s also a very good multi-image drawing of Lupin the Second in some lingerie. Hey there’s a Lupin III forum that I’m apart of, posting art on, doing CSS for, and did some badges for! Check it out, it’s really chill so far and a good place to be away from Twitter.
I’m going to be starting my next TTRPG with my group the first week of February, I’m really excited to get back into it. I’ll post the NPC designs I’ve done once they’re revealed to the players!
I’ve been re-reading Witch Hat Atelier and it’s just such a good comic. The magic system is really fun and relatable! I highly recommend picking it up if you can.
