Updates

Hey y’all, wanted to post this update now since it affects some of this month’s posts.

For June I’ll be off from work because I’m getting married!! It’s really exciting but a lot of work so I wanted to take some time today to get all my posts in order.

I’ll be pausing any new comic pages for some of May and all of June because I just won’t be at my computer to post them. I’ve got a pretty good backlog of anthology pieces I’ve been holding on to for this very occasion.

For Early Access tier folks; I’ll be posting the 7 page comic I did for the Twisting Time anthology. The comic was written by Clark Moreau. I’ll also be posting some Lupin one-shots I’ve had on the backburner for a while, so we’ll be taking a Darumaka break for a bit. You’ll continue getting a weekly illustration on Fridays before they’re posted publicly!

For Grab Bag tier peeps; I’ll be posting an older anthology comic that Michelle and I did together that I realised I’d never posted anywhere. It’s from 2018 and was meant to be in the “Fine Wine” anthology about older gay men. The anthology never came to be, so Grab Bag patrons will be the first to see our Train Dads comic.

I’ll be posting another insight/behind the GM screen post as well. Excited to tell you about the alien campaign I ran for my group!

For Private Collector friends; you’ll be getting all 7 pages of the comic Michelle and I did for the award nominated Nectar anthology. I’ll post one page per week until it’s done.

For public pals; nothing will really change for y’all but in a month or two you’ll start seeing the Early Access comics and illustrations on Topaz Comics, my blog, and on most social media sites from @jeypawlik

Updates

Hey it’s nearing the end of the month so here’s April’s newsletter!

If you wanna get these newsletters in your RSS feed add this link to your feed reader. If you’re more of an email person, hey, I’ve got a mailing list now! Or if you don’t like either, you can follow me for free on Patreon and get my newsletter there.

April’s Oh Joy Sex Toy Comic “Sex Toy Care”

Read it here! Coming at you hot with a review this time, if you want to get into strap-ons and don’t know where to start – this might be the comic for you!

OH! AND Oh Joy Sex Toy is running a pledge drive that ends April 30th which will include an interview with me and the wonderful Lucy Bellwood, Hien Pham, Erika & Matthew. My 5 page extra comic is about my love of TTRPGs and I’m so incredibly proud of it! Go check out the OJST Patreon for all the deets.

For $10 patrons, I posted a behind the scenes about my OJST comic “A Day in the Life of an Erotic Artist”. This includes sketches, thumbnails, my script and an indepth look at how I went about doing a commissioned hourly comics day comic.

Alola Darumaka

Read the latest pages starting here!  Our April fools jokes and some business is to be had this month! If you’re new you can start reading here: Alola Darumaka it’s a free to read 4-koma comedy comic about Darumaka and her partner Daven who’ve moved to Alola from Unova. Hijinks happen but it’s all in good fun!

Patrons and Kofi subscribers get early access to pages 1 month before they’re posted publicly on Topaz Comics every Tuesday at 12pm EST

Shop Updates

No new updates this month on the shop, but next month keep an eye out for the Dead City omnibus book! It’s big at 8.5″x11 and 194 pages!

April’s Sketchbook

This month’s sketchbook is HERE for $5 members on Patreon & Kofi

There’s some really fun concepts in here; finished my Lord of the Makas drawings so I’ll put those all together at some point, more Mixed Drinks AU sketches – be on the lookout for the finished versions, Swim On thumbnails, cover sketch and inner pattern for 2023, a boudoir zine brainstorming session with Michelle and our good friend @thesandlord, some vintage photo sketches, and maybe the most shoutout sketches I’ve done since I started offering them! So exciting!

The Curtain Falls

Page 23 and 24 of my Lupin III fancomic “The Curtain Falls” are up. The story follows Lupin in his 60s, dealing with the fact that nothing lasts forever and we’re nearing the end of Act 1!

Commissions

I’ve got 2 commission slots open per month, only 2 because that might be all I can handle right now. Patrons get first dibs. I set up a trello board for it too, I’m a big fan of trello boards

NSFW Art

For my $10 Private Collector patron tier, I posted up the first illustration in a set of 6 about Lupin and the gang’s tits. Then I posted the first page of the last chapter of “After All These Years” the Jigen/Zenigata comic Michelle and I have been working on together. My $10 tier has a huge backlog of lewd art spanning a few years now, but if you can’t make it onto Patreon you can grab the PDF versions on my itchio after I collect enough pieces to make a PDF. Patreon and Itchio are the only places I’ll be posting 18+ work.

TCAF

Dead City books are HERE and they look GREAT! Join me & Michelle at TCAF (April 29-30th, 2023) on the second floor, booth #2083 in the Appel Salon. I’ll be bringing lots of books, stickers, prints and more!

Other things

I made a new goal on my Kofi account, I’d like to try doing more talks for free online about how to freelance, make zines, set up a Patreon, etc. The talk I have in mind right now is about how to moderate a fandom zine or comic anthology, setting up applications, making a PDF, and sending books to print! It’ll be available on my twitch channel and then I’ll upload the VOD to youtube, and write a written format for it as well. It’s a lot of work to set things like this up so I thought putting up a Kofi goal would be the best way to crowd-source this.

If you’re a Lupin fan, go check out the Lupin III forum that I’m apart of. I’m posting art over there, and I made the jacket badges for it.

I’m officially apart of the Cartoonist Cooperative, which is a really cool community for comic artists to work on things together and share resources!

On June 4th I’m getting married?!!!! So posts might be a bit slower but I’m doing my best to get a buffer going~

~~~
Another really busy month, but we made it through!
Updates
Had this idea last week after seeing some screencaps from Dead or Alive, which I haven’t watched in a hot second, but I didn’t realise how similar that movie’s Jigen looked to my own interpretation of him?! So I thought this would be a fun template to whip up if any of y’all are interested, tag it with #LupinStyle
Brushes used
Noisy Marker
Grunge Dot
Real Pencil (CSP Default)
Muddy-Ari
CRM Flat Bleed
Pencil Hatching
Let me know if this was helpful! I really like sharing brushes & things like this.
